The tie and dye art of treating textiles is fairly universal, with many ingenious versions scripting new genres in various parts of the world. The technique of resist dying by binding the individual parts of the cloth to shield them from the dye is usually known in India as ‘Bandhani’.
The project focuses on reinventing the Age old Technique and applying it to leather ( white crust ) to attain various visual textures and aesthetics and henceforth making products for a modern day female consumer.
The aim of the project is to revive and take traditional indian techniques and make interesting new age designs.
